Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need specialized equipment or Exchange servers or similar?
No – all you need to use My Student Inbox is a web browser and an internet connection. It’s also extremely intuitive to use – if you can use current web-based e-mail, you can use My Student Inbox.
Who provides support?
We do – you do not need a support or IT person.
How many mailboxes can we have?
As many as you need – 10 to 10,000 (and more). The number is almost unlimited, really.
Do we get a .edu address?
Yes. If you already own your “school name.edu” address, we can setup My Student Inbox to utilize that (so everyone’s email is theirname@yourschool.edu). If you do not yet have your school’s .edu address, or wish something else to be the domain name, we can help you with that. Either way, it will be @ “whatever you wish”.
How good are the spam controls?
Exceptional. In recent tests, 97% of all spam was successfully filtered. And the spam signatures and filters are continually updated.
What about virus protection?
All incoming mail / attachments are scanned with the latest in virus protection. Of course, we also recommend any computer have its own protection as well.
And security?
As robust as we can make it. We utilize the latest in firewalls and anti-hacker measures, and also redundantly backup servers. This way your data is both protected and retrievable.
How much does My Student Inbox cost?
The cost varies by how many mailboxes are needed. However, we realize schools must be extremely cost conscious. Rest assured that My Student Inbox is very affordable, as low as $0.99 per mailbox per month! To get a quick quote for your school, simply click here.
How much control do the school administrators have?
They have full control over just about everything. Adding / deleting users, resetting passwords, setting global content filters, whitelist/blacklist senders, and much more. We would be happy to give you a demonstration.
Does My Student Inbox work with Outlook and similar?
Yes. If you prefer using an e-mail client over using webmail, you may.
